ALCON Successfully Installs the First Guide Way Track Beam for the Phase 1A of the Rivers Monorail Project

ALCON Nigeria Limited Successfully installed the first Guide way Track Beam on Tuesday 30th October, 2012 marking the commencement of the site installation works for the phase 1A of the Rivers State Monorail Project.

 The Commissioner of the Rivers State Ministry of Works who was represented by his Permanent Secretary expressed great satisfaction with ongoing work at site. He also assured the public of a swift completion of the project while ensuring that the Traffic situation was going to be properly controlled throughout the duration of the project.

 Present at the event was a cross section of the project stakeholders’ including staff of Arcus Gibbs, River Monorail Company (RMC), Intamin and others as well as friends of the Media, and also key staff of ALCON Nigeria Limited involved in the Project.


Following the SPDC Capacity Assesment caried out on 23rd September 2011, SPDC Team visited ALCON's Trans-Amadi Facility on 19th September 2012 with a high profile delegation.

This SHELL/ALCON JOINT TOP LEADERSHIP SAFETY IMPROVEMENT SESSION was held in order to evaluate and upgrade ALCON HSE grade from 'AMBER' to 'GREEN'. SPDC was delighted to see great improvements shown by ALCON over the past few months.

ALCON receives the Board of Seven Energy to UQUO Gas Plant

ALCON Management received on Sept. 12th 2012 the Seven Energy Board along with representatives of Major Banks who put together the project finance package. An accurate project presentation was followed by site inspection.

All Board members and Bank reps expressed great satisfaction for the quality and high level of professionalism shown by ALCON whilst executing the project. A special recognition was given to ALCON for the impeccable safety performance shown during the project execution that has led to the current 2(two) million hours without LTI.
